Stuck On U Sketches Challenge

Hope everyone is having a Wonderful Day! Here's another awesome sketch from Stuck On U Sketches created by our talented Leah Schaeffer.
This challenge runs from August 17th-30th, so get your entries in!!

And here is my interpretation of the sketch.   I used a pic of my mother and me when we were both Oh..So..Young. The title of my layout says "Life is perfect, with you and me".
The papers are from my Swirlydoos kit called "The Paper Doll". They included papers from 7 Gypsies and Kaisercraft. I did a lot of layering, distressing, and hand stitching.

Here is a closeup. The chipboard is from Dusty Attic, DA0656 Rose Cluster. I painted it with distress crackle paint Tattered Rose and let dry over night.  Then I inked the leaves with distress ink in Forest Moss, and inked the rest of the chipboard with distress ink in Aged Mahogany and Victorian Velvet.
The paper layer that's crinkled..literally..and inked with aged mahogany distress ink to accent the creases.
I misted the bottom of my layout using a gate stencil from tattered angels, I think. I used TA chalkboard ink in Cherry Cola.

Here is another close up of the Dusty Attic chipboard, also from the same package, item #DA0656 Rose Cluster.  The flowers I used are all from Petaloo, mini pearl daisies and velvet mini blossoms in burgundy. Love them!
I also had some bubble wrap that I used as a stamp (actual bubble wrap). I cut a small piece of the bubble wrap, covered it with slate gray acrylic paint and stamped it to my layout all around my page. You can barely notice it..but in person, looks really pretty.

Have a wonderful day and hope to see you at SOUS!

Sketch Created by Leah Schaeffer

Adore
I created this card using papers from the swirlydoos kit, The Paper Doll.  It included papers from Kaisercraft The Lake House Collection.
This is the inside of the card.

This is a pic of the small cluster. I painted the dusty attic chippy in embossing powder, Razzleberry Plum from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Here's a closeup of the grunge paper rose that I made. It was my first time making these roses..aaah! I made both roses using Tim Holtz Grungepaper, spritzed with starburst spray in Black Orchid Silver and Pretty in Pink Pink from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I also inked the edges with black coal chalk ink.
For a video tutorial on how to make the grunge paper rose click here.

I did some stamp embossing and here's another closeup of my grunge paper rose.
Thanks for looking and would love to hear from you!

Here is the palette:

And here is my entry. It's a picture of my mother and me when we were both..Oh-So-Young. hehe

I used papers from the Paper Doll Kit at Swirlydoos. I had some pretty trim from my stash.

The altered chipboard is Dusty Attic's Pots and Columns. I painted it with acrylic paint and covered it with crackle accents.

I made the Puffy Roses using Lisa Gregory's tutorial over at Swirlydoos. Click here to see the picture tutorial.

Another pic and closeup.

Stuck On U Sketches Card Challenge

Hello Everyone! Today we have our August 1st SOUS card sketch created by our guest designer, Debbie Burns. It was such a fun and easy sketch to work with. Come join us at Stuck On U Sketches and check out all the design teams beautiful creations.

I titled this card "Adore". I used papers from Prima called "Romantique Collection", gorgeous gorgeous papers! I distressed the edges of the paper and added some chalk ink. I also punched brads in the edge of the card and ran some string I had in my stash.

Here's a closeup of the title, which is actually a rub on that I had in my stash. I thought it looked pretty good.  The wood flourish is a bird cage from Kaisercraft, I didn't color it and just left it naked. (ooh-la-la).

The large flower is from Petaloo and the smaller ones are from Kaisercraft. Thanks so much for looking and I love to see your comments!
